Prominent Berkshire sculptor Andrew DeVries installed 25 of his largest bronze sculptures, rarely seen in one location, around the environs of the historic district in Lenox, MA. Having recently undergone a million dollar renovation that greatly enhanced its classic New England character, this popular New England tourist mecca was home for these figurative works from May 29th through November 1st of 2010. This was the largest public display of one individual sculptor’s work ever exhibited in Lenox and was a dramatic milestone on an artistic journey that began three decades ago.

Andrew’s sculptures have received awards from the National Sculpture Society and have been included in their exhibitions in both New York and Serravezza Italy. Andrew has also exhibited in Boston, The Berkshires, New York City, Florida and Colorado. His sculptures and pastels can also be viewed at DeVries Fine Art International, located at 62 Church Street in Lenox (413~637~3462).

His work is privately collected throughout the world covering over a dozen countries as well as a number of public collections here in the United States, Ireland, and Germany.

For many years Andrew was the summer resident artist at the Chesterwood Museum in Stockbridge, MA. He has also given numerous casting demonstrations for other museums in the United States. In 2007 he completed a residency at the Tyrone Guthrie Center in Ireland and in 2008, a year-long outdoor exhibit in downtown Northampton MA.

One of the many things that sets Andrew apart from other sculptors is that he casts and finishes all of his bronze sculptures himself at his foundry studio in Middlefield, MA. Andrew specializes in the ancient process of lost wax casting, a process that dates back over 5,000 years. As both an artist and an artisan Andrew brings 30 years of expertise to each detailed step of this ancient method. Come and enjoy the sculptures for yourself, and be sure and stop by Andrew's gallery at 62 Church St. to say hello!
