I have chosen the term Symbolic Sculpture to define this series. This body of works is influenced by our most recent history in sculpture, including the influence of native images on the masters of modern abstract sculpture in the early 1900's and the surrealist's focus on the mystery of dreams and the unconscious mind floating within the forms. The revelations of Moore, Giacometti and Noguchi are all present, set within the personal framework of our times. It is the artist’s duty to stretch the boundaries of our day to day experiences and go beyond them to a deeper understanding of ourselves.
